Nuts and seeds: small portion, big health benefits
Nuts and seeds are packed with healthy fats, yet people in Flanders consume surprisingly little of them.
Fewer than 1 in 10 Flemish adults eat nuts or seeds daily, and only 2.5% reach the recommended intake of at least 20 grams per day. A missed opportunity—because just a small handful a day can already make a big difference.
The Superior Health Council recommends that adults consume 20 to 30 grams of nuts and seeds per day, roughly the equivalent of a small handful.
